TRAIN WITH DOGLAB

Hello my name is Gus; I'm a certified professional dog trainer and behaviourist with more than twenty years of experience and  a very simple philosophy.  I believe that training dogs in the UK should be fun, innovative, and growl-free.  All dogs and humans involved in the process, experience the benefits; learning about behaviour and problem solving for the future.

As a former wild animal trainer ( USA ), I had the opportunity to work with a wide range of animals from dolphins to tigers but my favourite species to work with is THE DOG.

I'm trained as a behavior analyst using the ABA model (Applied Behavior Analysis), specifically the Constructional Approach, where we build repertoires of behaviours instead of getting rid of "unwanted" behaviours.

What Does This Mean?

It means, that learned behaviours never truly disappear, they take the back seat once new behaviour repertoires are in place.

I'm a born problem-solver, passionate about addressing issues that others shy away from.  This is why, with an outstanding success rate I specialise in:

AGGRESSION

FEAR

ANXIETY

My mission is to help you and your dog achieve your full potential by placing the best behaviour program, tailored to your needs.

The same techniques of positive reinforcement used in zoos and aquariums,I apply to the dogs.

The results are clear to see for everyone involved!  So put your best paw forward and let's get started today!

Gus.

BEHAVIOR CONSULTING

I  structured  the process  of consultation as  such:

 1) -  a zoom meeting, where we'll go over  a questionnaire together.

 2) - an assessment where all the data

( video and questionnaire is gather). Here  an intervention, ( what to do ), will  emerge by having all the puzzle pieces  together.

3) - And finally we'll apply the    intervention where the expected      changes will take place and we'll

  re- asses.

B = F(x) under C

This equation illustrates how scientists present and analyze their subject matter.

It is no different for behavior analysis.

What this equation is telling us is that, Behavior is a function of the contingencies under a specific condition.

In more layman terms you would say that your dog's behavior is a like a recipe, where the outcome is the combination of all those ingredients:  their quantities , their qualities , densities and flavors therefore if you were to make any changes to any of these ingredients, the outcome would change.

This may not come to shock to you now that you have a clear picture, but the amazing thing of the equation is that  if we understand all the pieces around a specific behavior we can put a program in place to switch any of those ingredients or create a whole new recipe of  behavior .

So is not your dog's fault, is the environment and its contingencies at play that select for a behavior / environment combo.

Sorry to state the obvious, I'm sure you knew all this.
